Gotta love when you get a good Laura mention in a restaurant review.
She’s also making the pages of the venerable Wall Street Journal. We get some good info in this story:
The musical starts when Laura leaves Minnesota. Or, the beginning of the young-adult years, aka By the Shores of Silver Lake.
Artsy benefactors put up $1 million for the production with their long-term eye on Broadway.
A national tour is brewing. Quote, “… even before the show’s opening in Minneapolis, a national tour to begin in September 2009 was booked.”
Question for Broadway-savvy folks: If a national tour is beginning in September 2009, is it possible it could o to Broadway after the Guthrie run, and then be taken nationally? Or would the Broadway run be a whole ‘nother thing? Different actors for all three possibilities? Assuming all three things happen, what are the possibilities?
